2. Create an Accent Wall with Vertical Wood Slats

Wood slat accent walls have taken the interior design world by storm, adding texture, warmth, and architectural interest to otherwise flat rooms. This project is surprisingly accessible for intermediate DIYers and works wonders behind a bed, a living room television, or in an entryway.

You will need pre-cut MDF or hardwood slats, construction adhesive, and a brad nailer. Measure your wall, paint or stain the background a dark charcoal or matte black to create depth, and meticulously space your slats vertically using a spacer block. The result is a stunning, high-end feature wall that mimics expensive custom millwork.
