3. Metallic Leaf and Foil Flake Coasters
If you love a touch of luxury and glamour, metallic leaf coasters are incredibly easy to make and look highly professional. You can purchase imitation gold, silver, or copper leaf flakes at any craft store. Because metallic leaf is incredibly lightweight, it floats beautifully in resin, creating a suspended, three-dimensional metallic effect.
For a modern look, mix your epoxy resin and divide it into two cups. Leave one cup clear and mix a solid background color, like deep emerald green, navy blue, or stark black, into the other. Place random flakes of gold leaf into the clear resin and stir gently to break them into smaller, shimmering pieces. Pour the gold-infused clear resin into half of the mold, and the solid color into the other half. Use a toothpick to gently swirl the boundary line where they meet, creating a stunning geode-like split effect.
