9. Geometric Wood and Resin Hybrid Coasters
If you enjoy a rustic, modern-industrial aesthetic, combining wood and resin yields breathtaking results. You do not need professional woodworking tools for this beginner version; you can use pre-cut wooden shapes, mosaic wood tiles, or small fallen branches sliced into thin discs.
Place your dry wood pieces directly into the silicone mold. You can position a single piece of wood to occupy half of the coaster, or scatter small wood slices throughout. Mix your resin and add a translucent dye, such as a deep amber, smoky grey, or forest green. Pour the colored resin into the empty spaces around the wood, filling the mold to the top. The translucent resin allows the natural grain of the wood to remain visible from the sides, creating a beautiful contrast between the organic warmth of the wood and the sleek, modern look of the colored resin.
